Laboratory Introduction
Our factory’s mineral production laboratory is a core department for mine development, mineral processing, smelting, and product quality control. Its functions encompass ore property analysis, process optimization, quality control, and technological innovation, directly impacting production efficiency, resource utilization, and product competitiveness.
The following systematic analysis is conducted from four perspectives: functional positioning, equipment configuration, personnel management, and technical processes:
I.Functional Positioning: Full-Chain Technical Support
- Ore Property Analysis
Physical and chemical analysis are used to determine ore composition, grade, and impurity content, providing fundamental data for rutile process design.
- Process Optimization and Testing
Small-Scale Testing: Comparative testing of parameters such as particle size, H2O of crystallization, and spectral composition analysis is performed. Extensive testing of the same product yields precise parameters, verifying process stability and indicator reliability.
- Quality Control and Standardization
An internal quality control system is established based on standards, testing incoming goods, in-process, and finished products to ensure product compliance with contract requirements.
Introduction of a laboratory information management system enables automated data collection and traceability, reducing human error.
II.Equipment Configuration
Crushing and Grinding: Crusher for sample preparation. Electric constant-temperature forced air drying oven and muffle furnace for rapid multi-element testing.
Analytical Instruments: Energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, electronic balance.
Physical Monitoring: Particle size analysis, metal powder flowability tester (Hall flowmeter), and metal powder bulk density tester, providing real-time feedback on process parameters.
III. Personnel Management: Combining Specialization and Collaboration
- Personnel ConfigurationAnalytical Engineer: Proficient in chemical analysis methods and instrument operation, responsible for data accuracy;
Quality Manager: Oversees system operation and ensures test results meet requirements.
- Training and Assessment
Regularly organize internal training (such as new equipment operation and safety regulations) and external technical exchanges. Implement a “mentorship system” to accelerate the development of new personnel, and enhance team performance through skills competitions.
IV.Technical Process: Blending Standardization and Flexibility
- Sample Management
Sampling: Collect representative samples according to standards to avoid bias.
Sample Preparation: Prepare analytical samples through crushing, reduction, and grinding to ensure uniform particle size.
Storage and Transportation: Use sealed containers to prevent sample contamination.
- Testing Process
Chemical Analysis: Determine the content of major elements and impurities using standard methods.
Physical Property Testing: Evaluate product mechanical properties using particle size analysis, a metal powder flowability tester (Hall flowmeter), and a metal powder bulk density tester.

Product Line
Calcination Production Line
I.Raw Material Pretreatment
The raw material is medium-to-high-grade natural rutile, which is screened to remove impurities.
If the raw material contains impurities, water of crystallization, or anatase-type TiO2, high-temperature calcination is required to control impurities, dehydrate, and optimize the crystal structure.
II.Rotary Kiln Calcination
Heating Phase: The kiln temperature is slowly raised from room temperature to 800-850°C using electromagnetic heating, and raw materials are added. Main Calcination Phase: The temperature is further raised to 850-900°C (950°C is available upon request), and the remaining raw materials are continuously added. The temperature is maintained at this temperature for 1-3 hours (up to 4-6 hours upon request). During this phase, an oxidizing atmosphere is maintained by adjusting the excess air ratio (1.05-1.1), promoting the oxidation of impurities such as C, S, and P to CO2, SO2, and P2O5, which are then discharged with the exhaust gas. Crystal Transformation: Anatase and brookite TiO2 transform to rutile at high temperatures. The grain size gradually increases with calcination time, with the optimal holding time being 120 minutes.
III. Cooling and Screening
The calcined product is air-cooled in a cooling furnace to 30-40°C to prevent lattice distortion. After cooling, it is screened to remove false particles and then sent to the finished product hopper.

High-Temperature Rotary Roasting Furnace Heating Source: Electric Heating
Furnace Wall Thickness: 14 mm, 2 mm thicker than conventional furnace walls. Conventional maximum calcination temperature: 980°C, now capable of reaching 1000°C while maintaining normal calcination.
Production Capacity:10 tons per 24-hour operation.
Calcination Method:Rotary Calcination Kiln.
By controlling calcination time, rutile feedstock quantity, and calcination temperature, we can produce calcined rutile with varying moisture contents, as follows:

Screening Production Line
I.Raw Material Pretreatment
Uniform Distribution: Raw material is evenly distributed to the SYT series square swing feed port via a vibrating feeder.
II.Screening Parameter Settings
Motion Mode: The transmission method is manual-like, with the motion trajectory drawing an elliptical trajectory forward and left and right, keeping the material close to the screen surface. The material moves along an elliptical curve above the screen (swing amplitude 60-25mm).
III. Screen Configuration
Rutile Classification: 5 layers of screens (60, 80, 100, 140, and 200 mesh).
IV.Anti-clogging Design Silicone bouncing balls (15-30 per square meter) are placed under each layer of screen.
Mixing Production Line – Core Equipment and Process of the Belt Scale Mixing System
I.Multi-Binary Storage System
Five silos are equipped to store sand of varying particle sizes. Discharge valves are installed at the bottom of each silo to pre-weigh the raw materials and release them into the feed silo.
II.Weighing Belt Scale
Type: Variable Frequency Drive (Accuracy ±0.1%)
Function: Real-time measurement of the sand flow rate of each particle size and feedback to the PLC control system
Use: The ore blending system calculates the input ratio of each silo and, through the PLC control system, activates the belt scale system, ensuring accurate and even delivery of raw materials to the mixing system.
III. Mixing Equipment
Mining mixer (capacity > 15t/h). Raw materials enter the mixing system, are uniformly mixed, and then discharged to the finished product silo.
IV.Final Product
The final product enters the finished product hopper for final inspection and packaging.
