Natural Rutile

Natural rutile is a mineral composed primarily of titanium dioxide (TiO₂). It is the most common and stable form of TiO₂ found in nature. It is an important ore of titanium.

Natural Rutile

introduction

Natural rutile is essentially high-purity titanium dioxide and serves as a crucial mineral resource for titanium extraction. It possesses exceptional properties, including resistance to high and low temperatures, corrosion resistance, high strength, and low specific gravity. Calcined rutile is produced by high-temperature roasting of natural rutile in a rotary kiln. It typically exhibits a slight reddish hue and is suitable for demanding production applications such as low-hydrogen, ultra-low-hydrogen welding electrodes, and flux-cored wires.

Appearance: Natural rutile usually appears reddish-brown to almost black, with a pale brown streak, an adamantine to submetallic luster, and distinct prismatic cleavage. It has a Mohs hardness of 6.5 and a specific gravity of 4.
